SUMMARY:MetaHeritage Webinar #6 - Heritage Innovation and Investment: Connecting Culture and Capital
DESCRIPTION:Cultural heritage is increasingly recognised not only as a cornerstone of Europe’s identity\, but also as a driver of innovation\, entrepreneurship\, tourism\, and regional development. As digital technologies\, immersive experiences\, and creative industries reshape the sector\, new opportunities are emerging for investors\, startups\, and heritage organisations alike. At the same time\, growing interest in impact investing and sustainable finance is encouraging new forms of collaboration between public institutions\, private investors\, and innovation ecosystems. From AI-powered heritage preservation tools to immersive cultural tourism experiences\, heritage-related innovation is opening new pathways for economic growth\, social impact\, and international competitiveness. \nThe webinar “Heritage Innovation and Investment: Connecting Culture and Capital” on 25 June 2026 explored how private investment and innovation financing can support the transformation of cultural heritage into a more sustainable\, scalable\, and impact-driven ecosystem. Participants gained insights into how investors perceive opportunities in cultural heritage and creative innovation\, the role of business angels in supporting heritage-related ventures and heard about an example of a funding and investment mechanism. We welcomed Jacopo Losso\, Director General of the European Business Angel Network\, and Maria del Mar Alonso from Mundi Ventures as our speakers. In addition\, the webinar introduced the MetaHeritage Pitching Schowcase\, which provides opportunities for organisations and innovators interested in accessing investment support and collaboration opportunities within the heritage ecosystem. \nThis webinar is the sixth session of the MetaHeritage Webinar Series: Unlocking EU Networks for Cultural Heritage\, Tourism and Digital Innovation. It is open to all interested SMEs and organisations that like to learn more about European support networks and how companies can benefit from them. \nWebinar documentation \nPlease find here the slides of the event. \nThe information on the Mundi Heritage Fund are not included in the  slide deck and for confidentiality reasons. In case you like to be connected to Maria del Mar Alonso from Mundi ventures\, please reach out to the MetaHeritage team. \nWatch the recording:
