A conference centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Chateau Třešť rises from a 16-hectare park in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. First recorded in 1349, the castle blends Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture. It gained literary fame as a retreat of Franz Kafka, whose uncle lived nearby — an atmosphere still palpable in the restored rooms, wellness centre, and surrounding wooded grounds.
