MetaHeritage has published new resources to support organisations working at the intersection of cultural heritage, tourism and digital innovation. Now available on the project website, the collection brings together capacity-building materials, a Compendium of Good Practices and national and regional funding guides. These resources help businesses, heritage institutions, tourism stakeholders, public authorities and innovation actors develop their ideas, learn from European examples and explore suitable financing options.
The capacity-building resources for business development address the practical skills needed to turn an initial idea into a viable project or business. They cover entrepreneurship, business models, market validation, financial planning, EU funding, pitching, digital transformation and intellectual property. The collection includes courses, webinars, practical tools, templates and advisory services, supporting users as they refine their value proposition, prepare business and funding plans, and communicate their ideas to partners and investors.
A complementary collection focuses on cultural heritage and tourism, helping organisations explore new ways to preserve, interpret and present heritage while reaching different audiences. Topics include cultural routes, innovative business models, smart and virtual tourism, metaverse technologies, 3D digitisation and digital transformation. The resources combine learning materials with practical guides, research and tools to help users strengthen their digital readiness and develop engaging heritage experiences. Access conditions are indicated for individual resources, with both free and paid options included.
The Compendium of Good Practices brings together examples from across Europe showing how heritage can contribute to tourism, entrepreneurship, skills development, community engagement and interregional cooperation. Its six thematic chapters explore digital heritage solutions, innovation and preservation, cultural routes and tourism development, heritage-based business models, institutional recognition and knowledge, and cross-border cooperation. Collected through the project partnership, stakeholder networks and an open call, the examples offer inspiration for organisations seeking approaches they could adapt to their own context.
To support access to finance, MetaHeritage has also published national and regional funding guides covering Austria–Vienna, Belgium–Brussels-Capital Region, Germany–Thuringia and Saxony, Italy–Emilia-Romagna, Portugal–North Portugal and the Azores, and Spain–Galicia. These complement the European Funding Guide and Strategic Funding Mapping, helping users identify potentially relevant programmes, financial instruments and support bodies. As the guides include different types of funding routes, users should check current availability, eligibility and deadlines through the official sources before applying.
