The Flaneur Research and Animation Association is an interdisciplinary team of experts – including sociologists, cultural scientists, and animators – who have been transforming “cultural deserts” into identity-aware spaces since 2011. We combine rigorous research methodology with cutting-edge technology, delivering flagship projects like the Canaletto.online platform and the award-winning Eye on Art initiative. Our guiding principle is that culture connects people, so we connect people with culture, leveraging digital innovations (AI, AR) and social participation to build the cultural capital of modern smart cities and local communities.
In 2026, we decided to expand the “Eye on Art” project and build an Atlas of post-war art in public spaces – a simple tool and a digital response to the systemic disappearance of Poland’s post-war public art (1945–1989). The concept is built on the principle of “social monitoring of heritage,” transforming passive observers into active “Art Guardians”. By bridging the gap between official administrative registers (which often miss these works) and social protest, the platform’s goal is to create a space for documentation, education, and legal protection.
