Ponta Delgada, 2 October 2025 – The University of the Azores will host the second consortium meeting of MetaHeritage – Metaverse and Heritage Routes as Innovative Approaches for Networking, Capacity Building, and Interregional Investments on 2–3 October 2025.
MetaHeritage brings together 15 partners from across Europe with the shared goal of reimagining cultural and corporate heritage through digital technologies and immersive experiences. By connecting the metaverse with heritage routes, the project seeks to strengthen interregional cooperation, foster capacity building, and attract sustainable investments into heritage-driven innovation.
A Two-Day Programme of Exchange and Exploration
The meeting begins on the morning of 2 October with an opening ceremony at the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEG) of the University of the Azores. Sessions will include presentations of work packages, financial planning, and new initiatives, followed by focused group meetings.
In the afternoon, participants will explore heritage in practice through visits to a local botanical garden and two sites of industrial heritage. The day will conclude with a dinner featuring traditional Azorean cuisine.
On 3 October, sessions will continue with project-internal work and a dedicated meeting with associated partners and local stakeholders. The meeting will close at midday.
